Masjid Agung, Palembang, Indonesia

Description: Mesjid Agung Palembang yang terletak di pusat kota juga merupakan salah satu peninggalan Kesultanan Palembang. Mesjid ini didirikan oleh Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin I atau Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jaya Wikramo mulai tahun 1738 sampai 1748.
Ukuran bangunan mesjid waktu pertama dibangun semula seluas 1080 meter persegi dengan daya tampung 1200 jemaah. Perluasan pertama dilakukan dengan wakaf Sayid Umar bin Muhammad Assegaf Altoha dan Sayid Achmad bin Syech Sahab yang dilaksanakan pada tahun 1897 dibawah pimpinan Pangeran Nataagama Karta mangala Mustafa Ibnu Raden Kamaluddin.
Perluasan kedua kali pada tahun 1930. tahun 1952 dilakukan lagi perluasan oleh Yayasan Mesjid Agung yang pada tahun 1966-1969 membangun tambahan lantai kedua sehingga luas mesjid sampai sekarang 5520 meter persegi dengan daya tampung 7.750.

Masjid Sultan (Sultan Mosque), Singapore

Description: With its massive golden dome and huge prayer hall, the Sultan Mosque is one of Singapore's most imposing religious buildings, and the focal point of Muslims in Singapore. The mosque, designed by Denis Santry, was built in 1928.

During fasting month (this year falls on 24-September to 24-October 2006) every evening, sunset time, the mosque provides free dinner for everyone including tourist or passers-by.
