Description : Birmingham Central Mosque is the second purpose built and one of the largest mosques in Western Europe,  which was built in 1969 and opened to the public in 1975. The most inspiring value of this mosque is its Multi-denomination position which means it does not belong to any one particular sect or school of thought but it represents all Muslims from any background. It is one of the most recognised religious buildings in the city of Birmingham and a result, a vast number of people visit the mosque every year. 
The Birmingham Central Mosque is open to visitors throughout the year. We receive a large number of visitors from media, schools, colleges, universities and other institutions wishing to find out more about a mosque and the Islamic faith for projects and studies. The mosque has a special Guest Book which visitors have been signing since 1984; all visitors are encouraged to leave their messages about the mosque's visit in the Visitors' book

Hohhot Great Mosque in Mongolia

Location : Tongdao Street, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia
Description : The Great Mosque is the earliest and largest mosque in Hohhot, the capital city Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Great Mosque was built in 1693 and renovated in 1789 and 1923. It now covers an area of 4000 square meters.
The mosque is a mix of Chinese and Arabic architecture. Chinese mosques during the Qing Dynasty had minarets that were a compromise between a pure Islamic minaret and a Chinese pagoda, i.e., they were minarets that were crowned with a pavilion-type roof. Moreover, Chinese mosques of that period had steles, or plaques, which reminded Muslim worshippers of their inescapable loyalty to the emperor. The Great Mosque of Hohhot has only a single minaret, which, incidentally, was not part of the original design, but was added on later.
Of the buildings here, all constructed in black brick, the grandest is the aptly named Grand Prayer Hall, behind which lies both the Teaching Hall and the Muslim Baths. All of the buildings within have Muslim characters. And it’s noteworthy are the over 30 volumes of ancient Koran scriptures, all written in Arabic. It is also possible, with permission, to climb the 15 meter-tall hexagonal minaret, which is topped with a pagoda style roof, for a nice view of the city.

Kölner Zentral Moschee in Germany

Description : Heilbronn - Das Gebäude selbst hat noch keine konkrete Form, die Vorbereitungen zum Bau der Moschee an der Weinsberger Straße nehmen dagegen Gestalt an. In diesen Tagen kommt eine Spezialfirma, um Probebohrungen vorzunehmen, die Aufschluss über die Beschaffenheit des Untergrunds geben sollen. 12 000 Euro lässt sich der Bauherr, die Ditib-Gemeinde Heilbronn, die Untersuchung kosten.
Überraschungen will man keine erleben, denn unter dem Neubau ist eine Tiefgarage mit 80 Stellplätzen geplant, wie Vorsitzender Erdinc Altuntas beim zweiten Infoabend zum Neubau erläutert.
Einweihung könnte 2015 sein
Die Nachbarschaft von Anfang an einbinden, Wünsche und Anregungen aufnehmen, das ist der türkisch-islamischen Gemeinde ein besonderes Anliegen. Der grobe Zeitplan steht. Im Frühjahr 2012 sollen die alten Gebäude mit der bestehenden Mosche abgerissen werden. 2015 könnte die Moschee eingeweiht werden.
Sieben Millionen Euro sind veranschlagt. Ein architektonisches Highlight und eine neue Sehenswürdigkeit von Heilbronn soll an der Stadteinfahrt entstehen. Altuntas zieht den Vergleich mit Köln-Ehrenfeld. Die imposante Moschee wird demnächst fertig und lockt viele Besucher.
Damit der Anspruch nach ansprechender Architektur auch in Heilbronn umgesetzt wird, ist ein Wettbewerb vorgeschaltet. Mindestens vier Büros werden beauftragt. „Unser Wunsch ist, dass es nicht nur unsere Mosche wird, sondern die Moschee von Heilbronn.“
